2010-2025: Our World In Transition – Notre Monde En Transition

Text in English – Vidéo en français

This Topic is of the Utmost Importance

Since the 2008 financial debacle, our world has been evolving in uncertainties and trouble. What is happening is something bigger than a typical recession. We are experiencing a paradigm shift of historical proportion. Nobody knows what events will happen next and neither does us. However, Astro Tarology can provide us with anticipations about trends and potentials. Below is an image summarizing the suggested paradigm shift covering the period 2010-2025. Each component will first be described and later detailed one by one.

From 859 BC to 1950 – The Empires Life Cycles

All empires in history went from conquest to affluence to collapse. Regardless of financial strength, political power and knowledge of previous history life cycles, no empire leader has ever been able to prevent its supremacy from collapsing. For instance, the successive Chinese dynasties would always rise, stay and fall regardless of lessons learned from the past. Empires life cycles would repeat over and over following a same cyclical pattern. In 1977, Sir John Glubb wrote an essay titled “The Fate of Empires” whose life periods are summarized below (6).

Life-cycles of Empires by Sir John Glubb
Empires Life Cycles by Sir John Glubb

We can see that during 3 millenaries the average superpowers duration period has been consistently of about 250 years. By the way, let’s note that the full 250-year cycle corresponds to about ten 25-year generations. This 250-year duration presents an unexpected consistency, especially if we consider all the major changes during the 3000 years in transportation speed and weapons sophistication, which has expanded territories conquests from local to global. Regardless of the historical period, the life cycle was always of about 250 years. Something bigger than their leaders was inclining empires to rise and also to fall. While we could seek a spiritual explanation of divine influence, we can also look at the sky from an astrologer perspective and find out that there are perfect correlations between the 250-year empires live cycles and Pluto’s 247-year orbital cycle. When a country is born, Pluto occupies a certain position in the sky, which eventually will return to the same position in about 247 years. That period corresponds to the entire superpower life cycle. In his essay, Sir John Glubb also revealed that all empires cycles in history have followed a same 8-phase pattern process: (1) outburst, (2) conquest, (3) commerce, (4) affluence, (5) intellect, (6) decadence, (7) decline and (8) collapse. While not necessarily of equal duration, each phase would last an average of about 41 years. A visual representation for the US empire life-cycle is represented in above chart (5) and described as follows.

From 1776 to 2023 – The US Empire Life Cycle Phases

The USA was born on July 4, 1776. That day Pluto was positioned at 27º33′ of Capricorn and will return to that same natal position during the years 2021-2023, which is about 246 years later as found with most of the historical empires life-cycles. During that orbital period, transiting Pluto covered all angles from 0º to 360º with natal Pluto. Angles multiple of 45 degrees are critical and correspond to tensions during each of the 8 phases transitions. Below is a rudimentary historical outline associating USA superpower life cycle with Pluto orbital cycle.

July 4 1776 – : USA Declaration of Independence is signed
1776-1806 – Outburst: George Washington
1806-1809 – 45º: The end of slaves trade
1809-1847 – Conquest: Wars and battles
1847-1851 – 90º: The gold rush begins
1851-1894 – Commerce: General Electric is born
1894-1898 – 135º: The income tax bill is passed
1898-1935 – Affluence: Roaring 30’s
1935-1938 – 180º: Orson Welles “War of the Worlds”
1938-1962 – Intellect: Disney movies
1962-1964 – 135º: John Kennedy is assassinated
1964-1981 – Decadence: Sex, drugs and rock & roll
1981-1983 – 90º: Bombing of the Beirut US Embassy
1983-2000 – Decline: The Lewinsky scandal
2000-2001 –45º: World Trade Center terrorist attack
2001-2021 – Collapse: System ineluctable implosion
2021-2023 – : Projected end of US supremacy

Human death is unavoidable regardless of the wisdom and knowledge about what happened to previous dead people, and so are empires that rise and live until their inexorable collapse. Superpowers life and death patterns will repeat themselves whether their leaders study past history cycles or not. Cosmic life is bigger than human life. USA last phase runs from Pluto semi-square in 2001 to Pluto return to its natal position in 2022. It is worth noting the year 2001 amazing synchronicity between Pluto semi-square (45º), the historic empire transition from decadence to collapse and the September 11 terrorist attack on the World Center Towers.

USA may win the battle against terrorism, but will lose the supremacy war against the rest of the world, where contenders such as China are already preparing themselves for the opportunity to fill the vacuum. This process started in 2001 and most USA power strategies miserably failed ever since. We are now seeing a growing world chaos until USA final supremacy collapse around 2022-2023. This will only mean the end of USA supremacy but not the end of the USA. As Britain continued to exist after its 1950 superpower collapse, so will the USA. By that time, China will still be in the early stage of its superpower cycle. A bi-polar world supremacy consensus USA-China will emerge for decades to follow.

France revolution took place on July 14, 1789 which was 13 years after the 1776 US independence. It comes with no surprise to see September 11, 2001 World Trade terrorists attacks followed 13 years later by the Charlie Hebdo terrorists attacks in France. Analogical patterns would then lead to anticipate France supremacy (and Europe) to end about 13 years after the US, which would be around 2034-2036.

February 2011 – May 2018: Denial and Trouble

Depression

Troublemaker

As indicated before, Pluto’s orbital cycle lasts about 247 years during which it is sweeping the 12 zodiac signs. Pluto entered the sign of Capricorn in 2008 where it will stay for 16 years until entering the sign of Aquarius in 2024. That period covers the 2008 financial collapse until the 2023 US supremacy collapse. The corresponding Astro Tarology (Symbolon) card for that period is titled “Depression”. That somber card is selected by the sky and not by the interpreter. It is also worth noting that the world loss of values parallels Elizabeth Kubler-Ross humans five loss phases: (1) denial, (2) anger, (3) bargain, (4) depression and (5) acceptance.

Planet Uranus orbital cycle lasts about 84 years during which it is sweeping the 12 zodiac signs. Uranus entered the sign of Aries in 2011 where it would stay for 7 years until entering the sign of Taurus in 2018. That period covers the political upheaval from 2011 Occupy Wall Street until 2018 Trump disruption. The corresponding dysfunctional Astro Tarology (Symbolon) card, again selected by the sky, is titled “The Troublemaker”.

If that was not enough, the 2011-2018 period is also marked by the square (90º) Uranus-Pluto meaning major tensions between the two planets. The square happened to be exact not less than seven times as seen in the top chart on the bottom left (4). In Greek mythology, Uranus is associated with Prometheus and Pluto with Hades. Thus, Uranus square Pluto would mean “Human Freedom conflicts with Machiavellian Power“.

May 2018 – December 2023: Acceptance and Hope

Farewell

With Pluto’s darkness still in the background, the ingress of Uranus in the sign of Taurus in 2018 will mark the end of the troubled period bringing real change and hope. The corresponding Astro Tarology (Symbolon) changing card for Uranus in the sign of Taurus, again selected by the sky, is titled “Farewell”. The transition towards the new life paradigm may not be painless, but then we will see the light at the end of the tunnel.

From January 2024 on: Rebirth and Renewal

The Phoenix

Farewell
Farewell

We will have to wait until early 2024 when Pluto will enter the sign of Aquarius for the rebirth. The corresponding Astro Tarology (Symbolon) renewal card for Pluto in the sign of Aquarius, again selected by the sky, is titled “The Phoenix”. An exciting time where new societal birth will raise from its ashes: the coming “Age of Aquarius”, a more humane, united and just life paradigm.

Our world in transition, the Symbolon cards, their names, archetypes and symbols and the astrological cycles offer such an amazingly meaningful synchronicity. The image below shows a 2010-2025 summary overview of our world in transition.

Practically, take one week at the time until the blue sky will be back. In the meantime reflect on the following quote:

“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning how to dance in the rain.” –Anonymous

Personal Notes
(1) About the past: I am not an historian and am very interested of anyone’s comments about historical correctness.
(2) About the future: I believe that nobody can predict future events. Personal, local, national or world events don’t exist before people produce them. Seasoned futurologists can only announce trends or potentials. Like doctors and meteorologists, they have the right to be wrong. Practically, futurologists don’t make previsions, they only reveal the present to people who are stuck in the past. Therefore, I would rather name their visions as anticipations instead of previsions.

BREXIT – Victory Of True Freedom Over False Security

Serge’s two cents about BREXIT

Joy and Pain After Populism Prevailed in the UK

Ongoing socio-economic problems in the UK and in the world existed before the Brexit and will continue after. The key differences now are that the people voice has been heard and that the UK can be in charge of its own destiny. Yes there will be monetary and financial duress, but freedom and national identity are priceless values.

The Social and Economic Inequality

This decade insurgency started with the Mediterranean Arab Spring and the global Occupy Movement to develop into today’s sizable populist revolts about social and economic inequality. The recently empowered 99% have now credible options to oppose power abuses by the 1%. Anger and fear have reached intolerable limits and opened the door for new populist leaders such as Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage in the UK, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders in the US, Marine Le Pen in France, Geert Wilders in Holland, Pablo Iglesias in Spain and many others everywhere. Those political movements are not without parallels with Leon Blum and his 1936 “Front Populaire” in France that brought the freedom and social justice joy but could not prevent the financial pain amidst the then world depression.

The Astro Tarology Perspective

Over the last five years, I wrote several articles about the square Uranus-Pluto and its mark on the current decade and announcement of a major societal paradigm shift. The symbolic meaning of that planetary aspect can be summarized as follows.

URANUS = Revolution  Freedom  Originality  Humanism
SQUARE = Tension  Conflict  Stress  Struggle
PLUTO = Destruction  Power  Change  Renewal

Here is the visual Astro Tarology representation of the Uranus-Pluto dialectic

Symbolon Cards "The Jester", "The Seducer" and "The Phoenix"
Symbolon Cards “The Jester”, “The Seducer” and “The Phoenix”

The sum of “The Jester” (Uranus) and “The Seducer” (Pluto) equals “The Phoenix” (Uranus-Pluto).

The Uranus card —associated with the zodiac sign of Aquarius— shows a colorful Jester walking happily towards a revolutionary thunderbolt. Uranus requires impulse and determination to embark on his life journey new beginning. The path leads to a small isolated village which can be associated to the emerging Age of Aquarius. That new historical era is expected to be marked by the unity of science and art as well as a more humane life paradigm.

The Pluto card —associated with the zodiac sign of Scorpio— shows a tempting Seducer offering a flower while wrapped in hellish flames coming out of an underground well. As Pluto requires others energy for its own survival, he will say anything in exchange for people souls. Needless to say that the devilish Seducer only deceives others and never delivers on his promises. Pluto embodies the corrupted evil as opposed to Uranus the autonomous good.

The Phoenix card is the combination of Uranus/The Jester and Pluto/The Seducer, the good and the evil. The mythic colorful bird represents its beautiful rebirth from its own ashes. Yesterday is dead and tomorrow will come with a newborn excitement. The past must decay and any resistances are doomed to fail. Uranus the Good will triumph over Pluto the Evil. The doors of the jailed souls will open to a new freedom. The coming age of Aquarius is around the corner!!!

00 – The Traveling FOOL

953x946-tree-pirogueEvery person is torn between two needs. (1) The need of the Pirogue which symbolizes the travel, the tearing from one’s inner self and (2) The need of the Tree which is that of the roots, of the identity. Thus people are constantly wandering between these two needs, yielding sometimes to one and sometimes to the other … until they understand that it is with the Tree that one produces the Pirogue.
– Melanesian myth from the island of Vanuatu

PART 1 – SYMBOLISM

With his unlimited amount of energy and freedom, the Fool is ready to travel anywhere on the spur-of-the-moment.

The 78 arcana (cards) of a Tarot deck represent our life journey from our incarnation on earth to our spiritualization in the sky. The ubiquitous Fool mirrors all life potentials inside each of us. Let’s expand on the Fool’s four different arcana mentioned in the post about the Tarot cards introduction (there is also a navigation bar on the bottom if needed.)

Tarot de Marseille (TDM)

320x600-le-mat

We indicated previously that to each of the Fool’s four body parts corresponds one of the four human life spheres. Now, to each sphere let’s also attach an element and a color. (1) Material: earth/green, (2) Emotional: water/blue, (3) Creative: fire/red and (4) Intellectual: air/yellow. Note that the water element is celestial like the clouds and fire is terrestrial like the volcanoes.

The entire TDM Tarot deck contains 11 different colors, each with its own symbolic meaning. Number of those colors appear in the Fool arcana, but for now we will focus on the blue sky color. Blue refers to our emotional life (receptivity) and the blue sky –its more subtle version– symbolizes our receptive emotions at the celestial (sky) level.

The Fool arcana shows that the blue sky color is present in each of his four body parts and appears only once in each. (1) Head/intellectual: shoulder stick that separates the head from his body (humans are only intellectual animals), (2) Heart/emotional: wide open sleeves (“he wears his heart on his sleeve”), (3) Guts/creative: a dog pushes a “fig leave”, implying the Fool’s artistic-sexual creations and (4) Feet/material: the soil color changes to blue sky (conscious awakening) as he walks.

To reach a higher awareness level, the TDM Fool needs to open his heart to the celestial level in all four life spheres (material, emotional, creative, intellectual).

Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot (RWS)

350x600-the-fool

With his head looking up in the sky, the RWS Fool appears more like a careless dreamer. Both the TDM and the RWS Fools carry a small bag (representing all their belongings as they are detached from material goods and don’t need much to travel) on a stick on their shoulder.

While the TDM Fool walks on solid ground (realist), holds the stick with his left hand (receptive) and looks to our right (the future), the RWS Fool walks on the edge of a cliff (idealist), holds the stick with his right hand (active) and looks to our left (the past).

Both costumes are very different too, with colorful accessories (rich potentials) in the TDM and flowers (innocence) in the RSW. The dog symbolizes our animal instincts. While the TDM dog pushes the Fool to move ahead (future), the RWS dog warns the Fool not to (imminent danger.)

The white rose in the Fool’s hand is a symbol of purity and the red feather on his cap represents his vitality. The white sun (pure consciousness) in the yellow (intelligence) sky (spiritual) is in the top right corner (the beacon is the farther possible in the arcana = long journey).

To reach a higher awareness level, the RWS Fool needs to rely on his purity and innocence in order to trade security for freedom.

Mythic Tarot (MT)

356x600-le-fou

In the MT, the Fool looks like an irresponsible young boy wearing animal skins (primitive instincts) coming out of a cave (the past) and about to jump over a cliff (the unknown). The rising sun (consciousness) on the horizon is far away (at the end of a very long path). The stones on the ground indicate that he his about to leave the material world (security) behind him while jumping in the air (freedom).

In the MT mythological deck, the Fool correlates to Dionysos whose existence was complicated even before he was born. His mother Semele was a mortal princess who got pregnant by none other than Zeus, the god of gods himself. Hera, Zeus’ wife was furious of her husband infidelity and planned to kill the pregnant mother and her baby. Hera succeeded in killing Semele, but the unborn child was saved by Zeus who pursued the pregnancy by having the fetus implanted in his thigh. The magic surgeon was non other than Hermes, another son of Zeus born out of wedlock. Finally Dionysos was born, which did not stop Hera’s anger who still wanted him dead. She almost succeeded but again Zeus saved Dionysos heart that was used to revived him in Hades (Zeus brother) underground where his wife Persephone became a surrogate mother delivering Dionysos with a second birth (the Twice-Born, Dionysos became the god of light and ecstasy.) Hera was still mad and forced him to wander endlessly in the world, but Zeus got the last word by inducting Dionysos as a full fledged god sitting in the Olympus at the right hand of his father.

1035x630-genealogy-dionysos

Dionysos brought the gift wine to mankind as well as the spiritual redemption for those willing to renounce to their power and material possessions. Dionysos symbolic wine always implies the danger of the unknown. With the deity protection, his altered state of mind will lead him to a higher consciousness level. However, without protection he could have fallen into foolishness. Taking a chance to live a more fuller life is uncertain but well worth taking the risk.

The eagle (royal bird) in the MT Fool arcana refers to Zeus protection. The horns symbolize Dionysos animal instincts while the flower crown his divine vineyard.

To reach a higher awareness level, the MT Fool needs to trust his animal instincts and follow his intuitive impulses.

Symbolon Tarot (ST)

372x600-the-jester

The ST card now shows a colorful Jester walking happily on his initiation path towards a yellow thunderbolt (consciousness) far away in the mountains.  Like in the TDM and RWS, the ST Fool carries a stick on his shoulder with a bag at its end, though with a puppet of a king (his deflated ego) hanging out. The path is bordered with rocks (“rocky road”) and flowers (pleasure). Like the TDM Fool he walks with a cane (support) to strengthen his determination and self-confidence.

In the ST astrologic deck, the Fool is associated with the zodiac sign of Aquarius (freedom and humanism) and its ruling planet Uranus (originality and revolution). Both astrological glyphs appear on the Arcana corners. Both Uranus and Aquarius require impulse and determination to act in order to embark in a new beginning on the journey of life. The path leads to a small isolated village which can be interpreted as the emerging Age of Aquarius (unity of science and art as well as a more humane life paradigm).

990x510-aquariusA preview of the Age of Aquarius new paradigm can be illustrated by Michael Tellinger idealist Ubuntu Planet project. He sees a world where people do not live divided in fear of each other but rather live in united communities that thrive in abundance on all levels. He travels the world evangelizing his vision. Click to purchase his book.

To reach a higher awareness level, the ST Fool needs to free itself from habits in order to tap in its limitless potentials.

Though the ST deck of contains also 78 illustrated cards, it is more an oracle deck of cards than a Tarot deck. We included those ST cards in this presentation because of their psycho-astrologic roots. The celestial bodies in the Astro Tarology original mandala “The Flower Of Life” also follow astrological connections, but is in a completely unique structure. Details are developed in a post about Kabbalah, Astrology and Tarot.

In Astro Tarology mandala the “Flower Of Life” the Fool act as an astrological mediator between the planet Earth (terrestrial body) and the Moon (celestial mind) paralleling Dionysos material-spiritual ambiguity (cave and eagle).

In a summary, we can say that to reach a higher awareness level, the Fool needs to (1) open his heart to the celestial level in all four life spheres (material, emotional, creative, intellectual), (2) rely on his purity and innocence in order to trade security for freedom, (3) trust his animal instincts and follow his intuitive impulses and (4) free itself from habits in order to tap in its limitless potentials.

As a practical simple advice, your inner Fool recommends that you follow your instincts and move on with a fresh beginning.
